A red Ferrari suffered extensive damage to its the rear when it burst into flames in Happy Valley today.
The sports car, bought in 1999, was being driven from Happy Valley to a car company in Repulse Bay for inspection when the blaze broke out at about 1.45pm.
A police spokeswoman said the left rear of the car suddenly burst into flames, as the car reached the junction of Tai Hang Road and Wong Nai Chung Gap Road.

The driver, a 39-year-old man, got out immediately. He is understood to be a staff member of the car company.
The Fire Services Department deployed two fire engines and an ambulance to the scene.
“Firefighters doused the flames at 2.09pm. No one was injured in the incident,” a spokesman for the fire department said. He said an initial investigation found nothing suspicious.
Auto Italia, the local distributor for Ferrari, was not available for comment.
About four months ago, a survivor of the Manila hostage crisis escaped unscathed when his Ferrari burst into flames in Tsim Sha Tsui.
Joe Chan Kwok-chu, 51, was driving the HK$3.2 million sports car on Jordan Road at about 7pm on April 22 when the engine apparently caught fire. He was on a tourist bus when a former Philippine police officer killed eight Hongkongers in 2010.
Last October a motorist, 44, escaped injury when his Ferrari sports car caught fire in Tseung Kwan. And in April last year, a HK$5.5 million Ferrari went up in flames on a Happy Valley flyover. The driver was unhurt.
