A controversial businessman was believed to have been injured in an attack while having afternoon tea at a five-star hotel on Sunday but denied his injuries were caused by the assault.

Alleged triad faction boss Kwok Wing-hung, 57, was in the ground-floor café in The Peninsula Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui at about 5.15pm when a man approached him and allegedly punched him in the face.

The victim, also known as “Shanghai Boy”, sustained facial injuries and sought medical attention at a private hospital.
