A naked local man was arrested after allegedly wounding his girlfriend with a toilet cistern in Kowloon Bay, the third similar case in a week.

At around 1pm yesterday, a woman aged 37, wearing a bathrobe, sought help in a lobby of Tak Yiu House in Tak Long Estate, Kowloon Bay. She was wounded and bleeding.

Dozens of police with shields and helmets and police dogs were sent to the scene, as police believed the 33-year-old man who allegedly hurt the victim was armed and hiding in the building.

Chief Inspector Tam Wai-shun from Sau Mau Ping Crime Unit said the woman, a two-way permit holder, had injured forehead, hands and shoulders.

“The couple had an argument as the woman wanted to return to the mainland. The man hit her head with a toilet cistern,” he said.

After an hour-long search, the man was found in a garbage chamber on the 30th floor, cleaning away the blood on his body with a fire hose. His hands were wounded. “The man was naked and looked dazed when found. We found three domestic violence records on him, and are looking into if he suffered from metal illness.”
