Hong Kong victims of Germany axe attack travelled for family wedding
Friend of Tracy Yau says she is ‘very helpful and nice’

Tracy Yau Hiu-tung’s trip to attend her older sister’s wedding in Britain ended up with a bloody attack in Germany.
The 26 year old, together with her parents and boyfriend, was attacked by a 17-year-old Afghan refugee with an axe on a train bound to Wuerzburg, 100km east of Frankfurt. Her brother Yau Chak-ming, 17, was also on the train but uninjured.
Yau’s friend, who was only identified as Grace, told the Post she wished her friend speedy recovery from the injury.
“I hope she can come back as soon as possible and stay healthy,” said Grace, who studied translation an Lingnan University with Yau from 2008 to 2011.
“She is a sporty girl, pretty cheerful, very helpful and nice,” said Grace.
She said she and other university friends sent Tracy messages after the attack, but got no reply from her.
