Woman arrested after grandson, 10, plunges to death from 23rd floor
Police are investigating if fall was accident or suicide
Police are trying to determine if the death of a 10-year-old boy who plunged from a residential estate in Tsing Yi on Monday night was an accident or a suicide.
The primary five pupil was found unconscious on the first-floor podium at Hang Yip Building in Cheung Hang Estate at about 6.40pm.
He was sent to Yan Chai Hospital in Tsuen Wan but was declared dead.
He is believed to have fallen from the corridor on 23rd floor, where he lived with his parents and grandmother.
Officers did not find any suicide note at the scene.
The 55-year-old grandmother, who was inside the flat when the boy fell, was later arrested for child negligence.
His parents were not home.
