A student nurse stabbed her ex-boyfriend seven times with two eight-inch fruit knives seven months after the married man “ended” their relationship while continuing to see her, a court heard on Monday.

The woman was said to have insisted on driving the injured man home after the first round of stabbings, and allegedly slashed him again during the ride.

Kan Woon-tsz, accused of wounding with intent, has denied all five charges she faces.

She purportedly launched an attack on Cheng Pak-yiu, a salesman, in Sheung Shui’s Tsung Pak Long Tsuen on January 12, after he drove to visit her at home there.

Testifying on the first day of Kan’s trial, Cheng told the District Court he was suddenly attacked as he was leaving her home.

Kan was alleged to have poured unspecified liquid over the salesman’s body and then stabbed him in the back.

Cheng asked what she was doing but Kan did not utter a word, the court heard.

Carrying a knife, the student nurse allegedly charged at Cheng. The man snatched the weapon from her, but she then produced another eight-inch blade and stuck it into the left side of his chest three times.

“I was bleeding and going limp. I tried to resist but I was too weak,” Cheng said.

The man managed to leave Kan’s home and crawl on all fours towards his car parked about 400 metres away, while his alleged attacker looked on from behind, the court heard.

Kan was said to have offered to drive him back to his home in Tseung Kwan O, but then allegedly proceeded to slash him a further three times as they were on their way there in the early morning of January 13.

The woman used Cheng’s mobile phone to ring his parents before they arrived at a car park in Kin Ming Estate.

“My parents came to my rescue finally,” the salesman said.

Kan was arrested when she and the man were in Tseung Kwan O Hospital at about 7am on January 13.

The 29-year-old student had known Cheng through social media. She began an extra-marital affair with him in January last year before it ended five months later.

The hearing continues on Tuesday before deputy district judge Ko Wai-hung.
