The body of a 56-year-old woman was found in a Tuen Mun flat on Thursday, bloodied and with her hands tied.

Her 82-year-old father, surnamed Ng, was in the flat beside the body when police arrived.

The incident took place on the 29th floor of block six of the upmarket Century Gateway private residential complex on 83 Heung Sze Wui Road, near the Tuen Mun West Rail station.

Police received reports from a security guard of blood coming from the flat at around noon on Thursday.

When officers arrived they found the elderly man next to his daughter’s body with blood beside her. She was taken to hospital and was declared dead shortly after.

“Her hands were tied by ropes when she was found. She also had injuries to her forehead. We need to wait for the autopsy report to confirm the cause of death,” a police source told the Post.

Police cordoned off the area and were questioning the father at scene on Thursday afternoon, a police spokeswoman said. The case had been initially classified as a “dead body found”.

It is understood that the force received a missing persons report for the man in May.
