Chilling footage filmed by a British banker accused of killing two Indonesian women in Hong Kong in 2014 was played in the High Court on the second day of his trial.

Rurik Jutting, 31, has denied two counts of murder for killing Sumarti Ningsih, 23, and Seneng Mujiasih, 26.

Some of the clips recorded how Jutting purportedly tortured Sumarti before killing her, and they were played only to the jurors.

Part of the footage was filmed after the alleged killings, and was played openly in court. Here are parts of the transcript:

• “My name is Rurik Jutting. About five minutes ago I just killed, murdered, this woman here.”

• “It’s Monday night. I’ve held her captive since early Saturday. I’ve raped her repeatedly. I tortured her, tortured her badly.”

• “At the time it felt really good. Yeah, it’s good. I reduced her to a sex object. Then I realised, hang on, this is actually not that difficult or bad. This is illegal, of course. When you step back, you realise it’s horrible, of course.”

• “My hand is still shaking, and I feel sick. I don’t feel guilty, but clearly I feel something. I can’t describe what it means.”

• “I don’t recognise myself.”

• “I definitely have addictive personality. I drink every day ... I am addicted to having sex, clearly.”

• “I am genuinely self-destructive, consciously or unconsciously.”

• “Even now I’m here, there’s a balcony, half a second to run and jump, and kaboom, that’s me.”

• “I don’t like normal. I like the extreme.”

• “I don’t try to push myself to continue to be bad. I wanted to live a fantasy.”

• “After I already beat her so badly ... told her her life was over, that I was going to rape her repeatedly and kill her ... even after that she had wanted to live ... She wants to live, it’s weird.”

• “I had done something different, extreme by any measure, and frankly now that I think about it, it feels exciting.”

• “Okay, so, logistics. A body is in the suitcase outside. The toilet is half clean. I should throw bleach somewhere.”

• “I have no self-control ... lack of empathy for anyone.”

• “Some people may see this as the narcissistic ramblings of a murderer, which is true.”

• “I was running out of options. So there are only two options, I had to kill myself or kill her.”

• “The domination part, the control, that felt really good.”

• “Best escort I’ve ever been with, the quality of service she brought to the job was outstanding, absolutely fantastic ... I genuinely enjoyed her.”

• “Her blood is more red.”

• “I still don’t feel guilty, I feel sickness.”

• “I have a number of sides.”

• “If this ever comes to light, my career will be over ... I will probably be justly imprisoned for life.”

• “I feel very sick, I think it’s psychological.”

• “I just spent three days kinking a girl with a belt buckle.”

• “The narcissistic ramblings of Rurik Jutting, Rurik George Caton Jutting. Former vice-president of structured equity, finance and trading at Merrill Lynch, newly unemployed and part-time rapist murderer.”

• “In some very perverted sense, I killed her.”

• “I’ve basically been trying my hardest to link what I’ve physically done when I’m about to read pornographic stories which involve violence, torture and death.”

• “I respect women.”

• “I’ve been replaying before and after.”

• “How difficult it is to realise that fantasies should stay as fantasies. It’s not rocket science to realise something should not translate into real life.”

• “I have killed someone.”

• “Why not just let her go? I mean, I didn’t have to kill her, did I? Can’t believe I killed her.”

• “I’m about to read a story about someone raped, captured and tortured.”

• “I don’t think I’ve ever physically harmed anyone, I’ve emotionally harmed all of my ex-girlfriends. I’ve never done anything close to this, not even close ... kidnapping for three days, torturing in really brutal ways. Now that I’m sober I feel sick thinking about it.”

• “So it’s Friday night, Halloween. So yeah I’m still here, yay!”

• “All I can say is Hong Kong Police is f*****g useless.”

• “The thing is I don’t think I can do my sentence in a Hong Kong jail. I don’t think I can face a Hong Kong jail.”

• “I’ve basically been lying on the sofa for the whole week. The things I get up for is coke, alcohol and food. I’ve had a lot of Pizza Express lasagne.”

• “I’m waiting to be kicked out by the police.”

• “Now there’s a decomposing body in the suitcase in the balcony.”

• “The question is what am I doing with a bag of DIY supplies, which let’s be frank, one uses for the torture of a person... Yes I’ve played that out in my mind, the question is what am I going to do. Obviously the torture of someone would be bad, bad, wrong.”

• “Obviously I’m clearly loopy.”

• “I’ve killed two, the first one I tortured. There will be no redemption for me.”
