It followed a citywide manhunt for a sex offender who indecently assaulted two girls in separate incidents earlier this month.

Dozens of police officers were deployed to parks in Tsuen Wan to quiz children and parents on Friday, seeking information and whether they had noticed any suspicious activity.

Meanwhile, the search is still on for a sex offender who assaulted two girls, aged eight and 11 years old, in separate incidents in Sau Mau Ping a fortnight ago. Investigations showed the attacks were carried out by the same man. The suspect is thought to be aged between 30 and 40 years old, thinly built and about 1.7 metres tall, with short hair.

Police figures showed there were 584 reports of indecent assault in the first seven months of the year, down slightly from 597 in the same period last year.
