Sixteen people injured in accident involving Hong Kong minibus and two buses

All westbound lanes of Ngau Tau Kok Road near Amoy Gardens closed to traffic for two hours

Sixteen people were injured in a collision involving a minibus and two buses in Ngau Tau Kok, Kowloon on Wednesday.

The 16 people – the drivers of the three vehicles and 13 passengers – suffered minor injuries and were sent to United Christian and Queen Elizabeth hospitals, police said.

Around 1.50pm, a bus travelling towards Kowloon City failed to slow down when the minibus cut into its lane, according to police. The two vehicles collided and hit another bus parked at a bus station on the same road.

All westbound lanes on Ngau Tau Kok Road near Amoy Gardens were closed to traffic for about two hours, and public transport services were diverted,according to the Transport Department.

Online pictures showed a damaged minibus stuck between two buses, with blood stains on the ground.
