Hong Kong girl, 11, drowns at Butterfly Beach
Victim was found 10 metres from shore after relatives reported her missing
An 11-year-old girl drowned at a Tuen Mun beach on Thursday evening.
Police and firefighters received a call from a lifeguard at Butterfly Beach in the New Territories shortly past 6pm, after relatives reported that she was missing.
Divers found the girl about 10 metres away from the shore about an hour and a half after the search began.
She was sent unconscious to the nearby Tuen Mun Hospital, where she was later declared dead.
