Hong Kong car rams accident scene, mounts pavement and hits bus stop before speeding off
Actions by driver on rampage occur as police approach the vehicle parked near to the first crash
A private car in Hong Kong slammed into a vehicle involved in an earlier crash, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake as it mounted a pavement before damaging a bus stop and speeding off on Saturday night.
Firefighters tending to the first accident in Kwun Tong district witnessed the driver’s rampage, but no one was injured in the bizarre incident, according to police.
Officers said firemen were at the scene where a taxi and car had collided outside Kai Tin Shopping Centre on Kai Tin Road around 11.30pm.
Police spotted another car parked nearby, with a driver inside who appeared to be unconscious.
As officers approached the car, the driver regained consciousness, started his vehicle and rammed into the back of the other car involved in the earlier accident.
The car then continued across to the opposite lane, mounted a pavement and travelled along the walkway, damaging part of a bus stop.

Police said the car barrelled on for about 100 metres before eventually returning to the road and speeding off.
An investigative team from Kowloon East is handling the hit-and-run case. No arrest has been made.
Both drivers involved in the first accident, a taxi driver, 65, and a 23-year-old man, passed a breathalyser test.
