Kate Winslet's husband Ned Rocknroll wins ban on nude photos' publication
Actress Kate Winslet's new husband, Ned Rocknroll, has won a British high court bid to prevent newspaper from publishing "embarrassing" pictures of him partly naked at a fancy dress party.
Judge Michael Briggs on Tuesday extended a privacy injunction originally issued last week for Rocknroll soon after contacted Winslet's publicist about the pictures.
Rocknroll's lawyer David Sherborne told the court the pictures of a "partly naked" Rocknroll in a fancy dress costume were taken at a private party, which had the theme "outrageous", and it would cause him distress if they were printed.
Sherborne said Rocknroll was "horrified" at the prospect. The pictures were never intended for public consumption and would cause "considerable embarrassment and humiliation" for Winslet and her children, who would face bullying and taunting if they were made public, he added.
Rocknroll, who attended the London hearing, married Winslet in a low-key ceremony in New York last month. He is the nephew of the entrepreneur Richard Branson and was previously head of marketing for Branson's Virgin Galactic space-exploration firm. He changed his name from Abel Smith in 2008.
publisher, News Group Newspapers, had asked the court to overturn the original injunction.
Rocknroll and Winslet said in a statement: " We refuse to accept that [Winslet's] career means our family can't live a relatively normal life.
