Russia condemns France, Spain and Portugal for blocking Morales’ flight

Russia on Thursday condemned France, Spain and Portugal for blocking the flight from Moscow to La Paz of Bolivian President Evo Morales, over suspicions that US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden was on board.

“The action of the French, Spanish and Portuguese authorities can hardly be viewed as a friendly step toward Bolivia or Russia,” the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement.

The plane carrying Morales was forced to land in Vienna after several European nations denied it overfly rights.

Morales urged European countries to “free themselves from the US empire” as he arrived home late Wednesday.

While in Moscow on Tuesday, Morales said Bolivia would consider Snowden’s request for political asylum, a comment that apparently sparked the European concern.

Security analysts in Moscow said Morales could not have taken Snowden even if he had wanted to, because the US fugitive was staying in Sheremetyevo international airport and is being denied access past Russian passport control.

Morales’s plane left from another international airport on the other end of Moscow called Vnukovo, which is primarily used by visiting dignitaries, as well as Russian government officials.

The Bolivian government accused European countries of placing the life of Morales in danger, a comment echoed by the Russian foreign ministry.

“The denial of overfly rights to the aircraft could have created a threat to the security of the onboard passengers, including the head of a sovereign state,” the Russian foreign ministry statement said.

USA no longer dominates Latin America or EU countries nolonger colonize Latin America. This is the dawn of a new era of Latin America's sovereignty, dignity and independence.
There were elements of “discrimination, racism, classism and arrogant imperialist attitudes” in the EU air blockade of Bolivian President Evo Morales's plane.
EU air blockade would not have happened if it had been the plane of a European head of state

The USA, France, Spain and Portugal have shot themselves in the foot in this fiasco and should apologise to President Morales who, after, is the head of state of a friendly country.
Whoever at the State Department is giving the orders in the Snowden affair needs to be replaced by someone more intelligent and tactful.

agree with what Russian's foreign secretary said that the denial of an overfly of Bolivian president's plane to La Paz by Spain, France and Portugal could cause dangers to the head of a sovereign state who was suspected of carrying Snowden abroad.Yet there are actually 3 airports in Moscow, the one used by Mr.Morales, president of Bolivia is reserved for dignitaries and Russian officials while Snowden is stranded in another airport for commoners and foreigners and he is still in the transit zone which denies him from boarding a plane without a valid passport ! These 3 former empires:France,Spain and Portugal have humiliated their ancestors and themsleves as well-----so fear of the declining American Empire !

You havv been advised not to use such words like,' hey man' which is only common in America ! In our beloved Hong Kong, we prefer to use, 'hello ' instead.Besides, why don't you attempt to write something related to the news concerned or the topic given instead of attacking other writer's posting----violating freedom of expression which is a core value of our beloved Hong Kong !
Actually it sould be Heyyy Mon'.. - got this from my friend in Jamaica. And I am sure you won't mind me using a common salute of that country. By the way, Jamaica is a nice place with lots of pretty girls. Maybe another option for Edward??
