A 49-year-old man was charged with assaulting five police officers by allegedly blowing a whistle in their ears at the July 1 protest march this year that organisers say drew 400,000. But police say 63,00 marched. He will appear in Eastern Court on Wednesday.

Police yesterday arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of having sex with a 15-year-old girl after she was found to be pregnant. The girl was feeling unwell, so her mother took her to the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Chai Wan where tests revealed the cause of her symptoms.

A woman driver was found by police slumped at the wheel of her car at the Wa Shun Street bus terminal, Hung Hom, in a dazed condition and smelling of alcohol. The 32-year-old was arrested for failing to take a breathalyser test and sent to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital to test whether she had been driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
