What's being said on Facebook about hopes that the HK marathon can become one of the best in the world, growth of eco-tours in HK, and claims by Japan's premier Shinzo Abe that China is teaching anti-Japanese sentiments in its schools.

When you don't have the capacity to hold long- distance running competitions, why do you insist on doing it and at the expense of citizens' convenience?

Hong Kong closes its roads for public events all the time (all fireworks displays, Jan and July 1 rallies, etc.) Why is the marathon, which is held early Sunday morning, i.e., the most unobtrusive time possible, met with special disdain?

A very good turn out, so much enthusiasm and not all runners could get accepted.

Not until they figure out how to organise it properly it won't.
