The Asian Cup will return to Hong Kong next month after a break of 21 years, affording fans a treat of top-class table tennis.

Although only a regional tournament, the standard of display in the Cup is pretty much on a par with a world-level competition as Asia features most of the best players, especially in the women's competition.

The Asian Cup will feature the top 16 men's and women's singles players in the region, who will be vying for US$100,000 in prize money. Each country will be allowed to send a maximum of two players in each category.
