ORIGINS SMARTY PLANTS CC
The claim: A hi-tech complexion corrector (HK$280) that can gradually smooth the skin, correct uneven skin tone and turn environmental stressors into skin protection.
The review: This aptly named complexion corrector with SPF 20 is much sheerer than many liquid foundations. It provided medium coverage for unwanted pigmentation and fine lines on our face, and mattified oily patches on our T-zone. It also kept us shine-free throughout the day. BIOTHERM WHITE D-TOX CC CREAM
The claim: Five corrective shades (purple, blue, green, coral and white) of "Color and Care" creams (HK$340 each) target specific skin tone issues, all with SPF50+ protection and a marine-based brightening complex.
The review: We tried the blue (for sallow, yellowish skin) and green (for redness) shades, which came out of the tube true to colour. Once applied, however, the colour was unnoticeable, and our skin appeared brighter and more even. Our favourite part was the texture, an almost mousse-like cream that left a velvety matte finish. It doesn't provide a lot of coverage, but works well as a make-up primer or for those days when you just want to tone down imperfections. Tama Lung
 
 

 
 
SKINFOOD VITA WATER DROP CC CREAM
The claim: A triple-vitamin complex extracted from fruit and vegetable hydrates that protects the skin for a flawless complexion.
The review: We found this moisturising cream (HK$215) with a slight floral scent handy to use and tote around thanks to its tube container and pump dispenser. Its beige tint provides mild coverage, but what it does best is even out skin tone, making it ideal as a primer and make-up base. (Those with darker complexions should test first to see if it works with their skin colouring.) We liked the fact that it offers sun protection of up to SPF 35 PA++. Pin Lee
 

 
 
 
OMOROVICZA COMPLEXION CORRECTOR
The claim: A colourless and silicone-free moisturiser, sunscreen and primer (HK$1,300) covers imperfections, evens skin tone and enhances radiance.
The review: When we applied this three-in-one product before make-up, our skin was left feeling smooth with an almost porcelain look. It doesn't clog the pores or feel oily, but leaves the skin looking luminous, healthy and moisturised.
