Going up in the world

Someone who dresses up as a skyscraper may not be everyone's idea of an academic - but Hong Kong's Kacey Wong Kwok-choi is just that.

For Dr Wong gained a doctorate in fine arts at RMIT University in Melbourne in September. He carried out his research in Hong Kong, although his RMIT supervisor visited the city several times each year to meet him and other offshore students. During the first two years of his three-year course, he flew to Melbourne to make presentations. Studying with a foreign institution wasn't new for Dr Wong. He had previously graduated with a bachelor of architecture degree from Cornell University in the US, and then completed a master's in sculpture from the Chelsea College of Art and Design in London

Dr Wong's personal skyscraper, which he has exhibited all over the world, is based on his interest in the architectural and sculptural elements of a built-up environment.
