Find out about a future in business

A business careers exhibition will be held from October 26 to 28 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).

Co-organised by the Advisory Committee on Human Resources Development in the Financial Services Sector (FinMan Committee) and PolyU, the Financial Services Career Exhibition will enable students to find out more about the business world.

Booths will be set up by 38 multinational finance companies to provide the latest information on the business job market.

Professionals such as accountants and investment brokers will give talks and seminars at the exhibition.

Judy Tsai, dean of the faculty of business and director of the Graduate School of Business at PolyU, believes students will benefit from the exhibition.

'Hong Kong is an international financial hub. More than 180,000 people work in the local business and finance sector ... Students who aspire to work in the field will gain a lot of insights from the exhibition,' she said.

Chan Tze-ching, chairman of FinMan Committee, shared Professor Tsai's views. 'To succeed in the international arena, Hong Kong should devote abundant resources to nurturing future business leaders.

'The exhibition is a good way to help the multinational finance companies identify potential business talents,' he said.

While the exhibition is aimed at university students, secondary students could also benefit.

'For those who are not sure whether they want to work in the business industry ... the exhibition will provide a valuable opportunity for them to find out about the inner workings of the field,' Professor Tsai said.
