Why Wong went green

Director Wong Ching-po has made two short videos about climate change for environmental group Greenpeace featuring singer-actress Kelly Chen Wai-lum.

One video, to be released on the organisation's official website and shown at the Hong Kong Arts Centre on Monday, is part of a project featuring work by three award-winning directors to raise awarness of global warming.

Wong, who directed Fu Bo (2003) and last year's Ah Sou, says making the video alerted him to the issue of climate change.

'It's already autumn, but the weather is still pretty warm and humid,' says Wong (right), who was best new director at the 2004 Hong Kong Film Awards.

'I started to think how come the climate changes like this.'
