Size has his smart imports ready to fire on all cylinders
John Size has a couple more handy types in Enabling and Delish about to start their campaigns, going by their performances at the Happy Valley barrier trials last Friday.
Delish appears to have plenty of natural ability, and while he crabbed his way around the home turn, the Thorn Park gelding moved nicely once he balanced up to finish fifth in his 1,200m blow-out in the heat won by the Tony Cruz-trained Love Lockdown.
The well named son of Midori Splice - raced by the Happy Diners Syndicate - should serve up plenty of fun for connections once he hits his straps on raceday and, going by his pre-import New Zealand trial, that could be sooner rather than later.
Delish burned off his trial rivals in New Zealand to win by four lengths in fast time (58.5 seconds) over 1,000m.
Size has now given Delish three quiet hit outs and it will be interesting to see what the youngster can do at his debut.
Enabling is a well-bred son of High Chaparral and moved stylishly throughout his 1,700m assignment behind winner Tres Magnifique.
