Beach umbrella movement, May 4

4 May 2015

Thousands made the most of the May Day holiday across Hong Kong. Our photographer Nora Tam sampled the atmosphere, including the beach at Shek O , which proved a popular spot. It was packed on Friday, as were the pavements as long queues of people left at the end of the day. The mountains of rubbish left behind also had to be cleaned up. Other places attracting day trippers during the holiday included Ocean Park and the beach at Repulse Bay.
