Ferguson's front line, August 23

23 Aug 2014

The shooting of an unarmed black teen by a white police officer in the St Louis suburb of Ferguson has sparked many nights of protests, some violent, and highlighted the racial divide below the surface of America. Exactly what happened when Darren Wilson fatally shot Michael Brown may never be known. Some say Brown - subsequently revealed to have been a suspect in a robbery - had his hands up. Others say he tried to grab Wilson's gun. As a federal investigation begins, the protests continue, but without the violence that brought the National Guard out on to the streets.
