A mountaintop-shaped villa built on top of a 26-storey apartment block in Beijing drew worldwide mockery this week, and led local officials to issue an ultimatum for the owner to get rid of it. The news has drawn attention to other outlandish structures on the mainland. It seems nothing too tacky is beyond reach for some entrepreneurs. From perching a fighter plane on top of a restaurant to having an illegal building envelop high-voltage power lines, anything is possible.
