One of the nation’s most isolated and inaccessible counties has joined the national highway network. Medog, home to about 10,000 people, became the last of 2,100 counties to be connected to the national highway system with the opening on October 31of the 117-kilometre Medog Highway after four years of construction. The road links Medog with Bome county in southeastern Tibet.
