New dawn for Qinhai's 'swan lake', December 10

10 Dec 2013

Qinghai Lake is the largest lake in China. After the economic reform in the 1980s, increasing numbers of Chinese began to migrate to the lake, causing ecological stress and rendering the lake inhospitable to swans. However, in 2001, the State Forestry Administration started improving environmental protection of the lake and attracted more swans to migrate there for winter. Photos: Xinhua
