Winter floods in UK, February 13

13 Feb 2014

An Atlantic storm left tens of thousands of Britons without power, adding to widespread misery after floods caused by the wettest winter in 250 years. About 80,000 households remain without electricity, with Wales the worst affected. One man was electrocuted while trying to move a fallen tree that brought down power lines in Wiltshire, southwest England. The rainy winter has set records tumbling, being the wettest combined period for December and January across the United Kingdom since 1910, the Met Office said.
