Southern China's deadly downpours, June 10

10 Jun 2014

The deadly storms that have pummelled southern China over the past few days have affected hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, of people across a swathe of the country. Xinhua reported 27 people dead and two missing in the torrential rains that have damaged property and forced 239,000 to relocate. Communications and roads have been washed out, isolating some more remote villages. Photographers from Xinhua, Associated Press, Agence France-Presse and Reuters documented the destruction.
