Catwalks off the beaten track, March 16

16 Mar 2015

Fashion shows around the world often offer a potent mix of non-stop celebrities and breathtaking designs, no more so than at the recent Paris Fashion Week that left an army of fashionistas gasping for breath as they pondered the latest collections for autumn- winter 2015-16. But while clothes take the limelight, the catwalks can often provide an unconventional and quirky stage on which to showcase new outfits. Reuters has put together this collection of photographs showing some of the world’s most offbeat runways. They include the image (above) of a model wearing a dress by fashion label Fendi at sunset on the Great Wall; models on escalators (below left) presenting creations by US designer Marc Jacobs in Paris; and a Cavalera show (below right) at a junkyard in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
