Young lives in balance, October 22

22 Oct 2015

On the outskirts of the mainland's financial capital, an acrobatic troupe practises for up to 10 hours a day to perfect their craft. The Shanghai Dream troupe is made up of about 30 performers of which just 10 are adults, with the rest teenagers and children as young as nine. The performers juggle balls, twirl ceramic plates, leap through rings and perform gravity-defying headstands and flips during performances throughout the country. Many of the performers live at the house in Shanghai's Zhoupu town that the troupe calls home, which the children also use as their school. A photographer from Agence France-Presse visited the troupe at their home.
