Runaround sound The Bose SoundLink (pictured; top) is a portable, wireless sound system that allows users to play music on their personal computer and hear it anywhere inside their home. No software download or Wi-fi connection is required; plug the included SoundLink USB key into the computer, select the music source - whether it be iTunes or internet radio - and the audio will stream to the speaker via a wireless link that penetrates most walls and floors. Waveguide speaker technology delivers room-filling, high-quality audio. The device has an auxiliary input through which other audio players, such as an iPod, an iPhone or a CD player, can be connected. The SoundLink system comes with an infrared remote control and costs HK$4,780 from authorised Bose retailers.

Keep in touch Research In Motion's latest smartphone, the BlackBerry Curve 8520 (right), is its first handset to have a touch-sensitive track-pad instead of a trackball. The company claims the new navigation design makes scrolling and selection easier. It is also the first BlackBerry to feature dedicated media keys, which run along the top of the handset. Although a non-3G handset, the Curve 8520 has Wi-fi support and the highly tactile keyboard found in more expensive models. The Curve 8520 is priced at HK$2,580 and is available from 3 Hong Kong, PCCW (SEHK: 0008) Mobile, China Mobile (SEHK: 0941, announcements, news) Hong Kong and SmarTone-Vodafone.

Heartbeats by Lady Gaga (bottom, second from left) are tangle-free headphones with multifaceted, glossy jewel-shaped earpieces, designed to be worn as a fashion accessory. They deliver the sonic clarity, pounding bass and power necessary to enjoy the singer's high-energy dance music. The Heartbeats by Lady Gaga headphones, which come with a carrying case and assorted ear tips, will sell for HK$1,080 at HMV later this month.
