The city's international trial events in November will be thrown open to overseas runners for the first time this season. International racing manager Mark Player said that “We were particularly keen to get Scenic Blast here for a showdown with Sacred Kingdom and our other top sprinters in December,”
A state-of-the-art training centre will be developed in Conghua, near Guangzhou, to accommodate a third of horses currently based at Sha Tin's facilities. The Hong Kong Jockey Club said the centre will be developed by 2014 and is part of the club's “grand vision.”
