In the news this week, Brett Prebble's replacement at Happy Valley last Wednesday on Victory Mascot brought some sharp criticism. Trainer Caspar Fownes told stewards that Prebble had agreed with him and the four-year-old's owner to be no more than one pound overweight - a strict agreement which Fownes said had been critical in Prebble's booking as connections did not want to suffer an extra two-pound ratings penalty if the horse was to place or finish close-up carrying two pounds overweight.
