The underwater production environment poses extraordinary challenges to the offshore oil and gas industry. Controlling temperature, pressure and corrosion that constantly test the durability of submerged equipment, particularly for deepwater operations, is no easy task. Thanks to its pioneering work in the design and construction of a wide variety of offshore facilities worldwide, Doris has helped make possible the efficient management and sustainable development of offshore operations.

For more than 50 years, Doris has been delivering trailblazing engineering solutions to the most challenging environments - from fixed and floating platforms, shallow to deep waters, and tropics to arctic.

"The oil and gas industry is facing big issues, for which there is no single, simple answer," says Nicolas Parsloe, CEO.

"We believe you can push the boundaries of what's possible with smart ideas and superior engineering. With specialised engineers working together, we deliver the upstream engineering services an oil company needs to enable the faster development and lower cost production from oil and gas fields."

Renowned for its cutting-edge projects such as the Ekofisk tank, the first concrete platform in the North Sea, the Hibernia iceberg-resisting platform and the Girassol insulated deepwater riser towers, Doris has forged a balance between innovation and detailed design work.

"Having the full range of engineering expertise - from the beginning of a project to its decommissioning - differentiates us from other companies," Parsloe says.

The company's inherent creativity has benefited operators in Asia for more than 25 years. Behind some of the biggest projects in the region, Doris was involved in designing the Shwe fixed platform and the Yadana platform complex in Myanmar, together with several phases of gas field developments in Indonesia.

Collaborating with all three leading South Korean construction firms Hyundai Heavy Industries, Samsung Heavy Industries and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, Doris has contributed to the construction of international and Asian projects.
