Each year, manufacturers of electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets are citing ever-increasing demand to produce more powerful gadgets with advanced applications.

Headquartered in Japan with subsidiaries in the United States, Europe, South Korea, Taiwan and in mainland China, NAMICS produces underfills, encapsulants and adhesives used by manufacturers of chips, solar cells and passive components worldwide.

“We invest money, people and other resources in R&D to efficiently execute each customer’s modifications,” says Nobu Odajima, president. “As a niche manufacturer, we successfully combined two very specialised areas – insulating and conductive materials – under one highly focused business. We also participate in conferences and exhibits globally to showcase our capabilities and to learn from other markets.”

Spotting Singapore as an emerging R&D and design centre, NAMICS seeks to penetrate the ubiquitous island-state by nurturing relationships with design houses. It plans to strengthen its networks in Asia as it welcomes sales partners from Southeast Asia with the right size, experience and long-term vision to expand its reach. NAMICS is also open to collaborating with small- and medium-sized local partners possessing niche technology expertise for joint venture opportunities.
