Each year, manufacturers of electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets are citing ever-increasing demand to produce more powerful gadgets with advanced applications.
Faster processing, higher reliability, less power consumption and lower costs are some of the issues that engineers at NAMICS resolve on a daily basis. A market leader in integrated circuit packaging, NAMICS has been at the forefront of developing insulating products and conductive materials that enable the creation of devices for cutting-edge applications.
Headquartered in Japan with subsidiaries in the United States, Europe, South Korea, Taiwan and in mainland China, NAMICS produces underfills, encapsulants and adhesives used by manufacturers of chips, solar cells and passive components worldwide.
With research and development (R&D) at its core, NAMICS has been allotting at least 10 per cent of its revenues to R&D for more than 50 years. Its almost 250 specialists provide tailored, reliable solutions and consistently stay on top of market trends to support new designs and technologies that fulfil customers’ needs.
“We invest money, people and other resources in R&D to efficiently execute each customer’s modifications,” says Nobu Odajima, president. “As a niche manufacturer, we successfully combined two very specialised areas – insulating and conductive materials – under one highly focused business. We also participate in conferences and exhibits globally to showcase our capabilities and to learn from other markets.”
Spotting Singapore as an emerging R&D and design centre, NAMICS seeks to penetrate the ubiquitous island-state by nurturing relationships with design houses. It plans to strengthen its networks in Asia as it welcomes sales partners from Southeast Asia with the right size, experience and long-term vision to expand its reach. NAMICS is also open to collaborating with small- and medium-sized local partners possessing niche technology expertise for joint venture opportunities.
“Our door is always open to possibilities that benefit all,” Odajima says.
