Market access to South Asia and Oceania has proven challenging for many companies. Nippon Express (South Asia and Oceania) has simplified the supply chain management of these vast markets through its one-stop forwarding and logistics services by managing the Nippon Express group of companies in 13 countries in the region.

The Nippon Express group is the only company to offer cross-border trucking service from Shanghai all the way to Singapore. Linking East and South Asia, the company's SS7000 service moves goods over the 7,000km route between the two cities. It plans to extend this route to Jakarta, using a combination of land and water shipping.

"We aim to be the No 1 logistics provider in Asia through our dedication to service, innovation and expansion, serving the 21st century Silk Road logistics pipeline across Asia," says Yasunori Takahashi, officer and regional general manager of Nippon Express (South Asia and Oceania) and managing director of Nippon Express (Singapore).

As regional headquarter company, Nippon Express (South Asia and Oceania) leverages the expertise of its global network from the Philippines to Pakistan and as far as Australia and New Zealand. Its diverse offering spans air, ocean, road, heavy haulage, information technology solutions, storage, and tour and travel services.

Nippon Express (Singapore) also offers value-added services such as warehousing, house removal for persons moving domestically or overseas, and heavy haulage construction. Its warehousing services include a 100,000-square-metre facility with automatic stock control.

"We provide quality business-to-business services to other countries in a uniquely Japanese manner," Takahashi says. "We take care of goods in the best possible way."

The reputation of Nippon Express group for efficient and quality service has generated a steady increase in clients from China and the United States. It continues to strengthen its position in serving the electronics, automotive, office machinery, apparel and other sectors.

With more companies coming to South Asia, the company eyes more clients in the fast-moving consumer goods, health care and aerospace industries.
