[First published on Jan 10, 1973] HONGKONG International School was the venue of the third annual Far East Holiday Basketball tournament with teams coming from India, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan.

The HKIS Crusaders won their first trophy in tight competition which saw the Taipei American School, champions for the last two years, dropping to fourth place.

Singapore American School came second and International School in Manila, third.

However, the Taiwan girls beat their HKIS counterparts by first place on the distaff side.

HKIS, winners in the last two years, were second, followed International School of Kuala Lumpur, third, and American International School of New Delhi, fourth.

“Best Cheerleaders” award went to HKIS for the second year and ‘Sportsmanship” honours were shared by Seoul Foreign School and American International School in New Delhi.
