[First published on May 04, 1972] If there is a job you want done, even if it means raising $11,000, just leave it to the mothers. It will be done.

Some months ago the Hong Kong International School committee “dropped little hints” to the school’s Mothers’ Club that it needed an intercom system.

Yesterday, the club’s outgoing President, Mrs Jo-Ann Stone, presented a cheque for $11,000 to Mr Robert Christian, the headmaster at the school’s chapel.

Members of the club, made up of about 680 mothers of the students, started their fund-raising activities last September. They would up last month with a fun fair.

The intercom system costs about $20,000 and the school will pay the balance of $9,000.
