World’s biggest rugby party welcomes all in Causeway Bay

For three consecutive weekends starting from March 24, the spirit of rugby sevens will fill the streets of Causeway Bay, transforming it into a themed carnival celebrating the much-loved sport. Last year, the outside-stadium festivities celebrating the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens attracted attendance exceeding the 120,000 cumulative spectators inside the stadium over the event weekend, so this year the HKRU have decided to bring it back, but bigger and better than ever before.
The fun and excitement of the tournament will be made available for all as the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens Festival is open to the public at Lee Gardens, just a ‘drop kick’ from the Hong Kong Stadium. The events are organised by the Hong Kong Rugby Union, with the support of Hysan Development and co-title sponsors Cathay Pacific and HSBC. These fan-friendly (and free!) activities aim to build excitement to a boiling point for the 43rd staging of the Sevens from April 6 to 8.

Sponsor Activations
While all of the above is going on, sponsors of the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens will be hosting a range of fan activation booths with interesting offers for attendees of all ages. To let anyone new to rugby sevens experience this engaging sport, HSBC will be bringing back its well-loved ‘Try Rugby’, located on the fourth floor of Hysan Place. Cathay Pacific will encourage party-goers to ‘Scrum as One’ at their fan booth and try their hands on the scrum machines. To record the ultra fun moments at the festival, Cigna will be inspiring visitors to ‘Bounce into Life’ with its photo opp stand. Visitors can also snap up a wide variety of top-of-the-range gear from international sportswear brand Kukri. Marriott Rewards will be hosting a pop-up restaurant to keep rugby sevens enthusiasts going throughout the festival, and Coca Cola will be keeping them hydrated at its soft drinks station.
