Piaget - Limelight high jewellery secret watch
This quartz timepiece (HK$1.75 million) features the iconic Piaget Rose from the Limelight Garden Party collection. The 39mm white gold case has 668 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling about 8.7 carats, which will surely appeal to mothers who love to sparkle. A hidden dial that tells the hours and minutes can be unveiled with a simple flip of the petal cap. It is fitted with a black satin strap and a white gold folding clasp set with 40 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling about 0.2 carats.
Harry Winston - Marquetry of Lady Amherst pheasant feathers
One of four from the Premier collection, this timepiece (HK$539,300) features a dial decorated with marquetry by Nelly Saunier. The feathers are from Lady Amherst pheasants raised specifically for the purpose, and it takes about seven hours to trim and position them. The 36mm watch - with a choice of white or rose gold - is encrusted with 96 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 1.64 carats and is fitted with a black satin strap. The three other models feature dials made with silver pheasant feathers, peacock feathers and ring-necked pheasant feathers.
Cartier - Secret Watch
Powered by a quartz movement, this high jewellery timepiece (inquiries: 8105 5008) doubles as a bangle and is crafted with rhodiumised white gold. Each watch takes about 1,000 hours to complete. The Secret Watch features six cushion-cut sapphires (totalling 21.83 carats), four baguette-cut diamonds (0.2 carats) and 941 brilliant-cut diamonds (9.6 carats). The design is completed with an oval-shaped briolette-cut sapphire of 21.64 carats, which opens to reveal a simple silver dial.
