A Facebook scam

The internet is filled with scams. One of the latest is on Facebook. It's called Disney Giveaway.

A user set up a page titled 'Receive 4 Disney Land/Disney World Tickets FREE'. It says people can get four tickets to Disneyland by inviting 500 friends to join the event.

The page claims that Disney is celebrating US$2 billion in profits from last year by giving away free tickets to Facebook users. So far nearly 20,000 people globally have joined the event and nearly 550,000 others have been invited.

It is believed the page was set up to get personal information from users. After clicking on the 'join' button, users are asked to provide personal details and to subscribe to ringtones and games.

A number of users have warned others about the scam. Hong Kong Disneyland said it had not authorised the activity. It has asked Facebook to remove the page.
