Nordic lunch gets diners in party mode

A few lucky diners got another chance to sample Nordic dining fixture FINDS' special eighth-anniversary menu. The fare was delicious, with the usual stand-out dishes of salmon six ways and banana toffee pie. This lunch, however, had more of a festive feel, with classic FINDS cocktails resurrected for the event.

The Kimi Raikkonen, named after a Finnish racing car driver, was a refreshing combination of fresh berries, cranberry juice and vodka.

The purpose of the lunch was to prepare diners for the annual FINDS party on June 8. For those who remember, last year's party was wild, with a line of boozy Nordic dining aficionados snaking around the block outside. This year, they're trying to class things up a bit by making the night a black-tie event.

How the dress code will jive with this year's theme, 'under the sea', is anybody guess. Time to find that tailor who is handy with synthetic rubber, or follow chef Jaakko Sorsa's lead: 'Maybe I'll be a salmon.'
