What I'm listening to: depends on my mood or what I'm doing, but I like anything with a bit of attitude: AC/DC, Green Day, Nickelback, something to get me fired up. And I have great memories from being on campaign in Antarctica, listening to Hong Kong's own Helium 3.

What I'm reading: I'm working through the Patrick O'Brian books on Captain Jack Aubrey. I also read a lot of spiritual and new age books; the latest was Nothing in This Book is True, But It's Exactly How Things Really Are by Bob Frissell. I like to escape when I read, and there's nothing better than a hammock and a good book.

What I'm watching: My favourite show - besides Whale Wars, of course - would probably be Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. After years in the food and beverage industry, I'm still shocked what goes on behind the scenes.

What artists I'm following: one of my favourites at this moment is Asher Jay from New York. Her vibrant, mixed-medium paintings are a blend of techniques and are seriously funky. She also does a lot of environmental pieces for different charities.

Where I'm surfing: I spend a lot of time on Facebook, which is an excellent tool that allows us to reach out to people and inform, recruit and promote what we do. Other sites I've visited a lot lately are seashepherd.org, sharksavers.org and unitedconservationists.org.
