Clover Canyon

Who started it? Clover Canyon is the latest line from Los Angeles-born designer Rozae Nichols. Having worked as a designer in Paris, France, Nichols started her eponymous label in 1993 and has something of a cult following for her bold designs and ethical approach to fashion. The prolific Nichols launched Clover Canyon in 2011, a year after the debut of IAN R.N. - an 'essential wardrobe' collection created in collaboration with Stella Ishii - while still finding time to design for her other lines, Rozae R.N. and Rozae Nichols.

Why we love it: the 'Made in California' ethos of the brand, encompasses relaxed fits and bold boho prints. Clover Canyon clothes are more like affordable works of art than fashion, with each piece hand-cut and taking inspiration from the contemporary art world.

What we'd pick: bold is beautiful and an ensemble of loose-fitting print trousers (HK$2,900), inspired by the Pacific tropics, and black sheer top (both right; HK$2,100) underlines that ethos. Closet hippies can indulge themselves with the boho top (HK$2,100) and brown leather shorts (both far right; HK$1,900).

Where can you get it? Clover Canyon is available at Lane Crawford, IFC Mall, Central, tel: 2118 3388.
