Red Flower - French Lavender Isla das Rocas revitalising sea salt scrub (HK$520/411 grams)
Claim: the salt crystals, from the south Atlantic coastline, remove dry skin and stimulate circulation. Infused with aloe vera and antioxidant vitamin-rich sea algae, the paste is scented with oils of lavender, peppermint, rosemary and pepperina.
Cowshed - Slender Cow detoxifying body scrub (HK$599/350 grams)
Claim: Himalayan pink salts and Dead Sea salts help attack cellulite and dimples, while Norwegian kelp, pearl moss and bladderwrack restore elasticity to slack skin. Mango butter, sweet almond oil and a blend of essential oils including grapefruit, sweet orange and ylang ylang soften and hydrate.
Olavie - Antioxidant Sugar Scrub (HK$500/227 grams)
Claim: infused with chardonnay grape seed extract blended with shea butter and six natural oils to exfoliate, nourish and deliver antioxidants to the skin. It has no preservatives and is the colour and consistency of apple sauce.
Verdict: Cowshed's sea salts give the best exfoliating result, stimulating blood circulation (skin was slightly hot) and leaving the skin smooth and refreshed. The natural oils give it a bright yellow colour, but it doesn't stain the skin. Red Flower and Olavie's scrubs are gentler and more soothing. They cling to the skin, which is good for exfoliating elbows and knees. Red Flower's scrub makes the skin feel silky, and Olavie's sweet scent is pleasant.
