Teenagers find body of newborn boy

The body of a newborn boy was found inside a leather bag under a tree by teenagers in Nam San Wai Road, Yuen Long, at about 1pm yesterday. Police believe the baby was born about a week ago and had been dead for 12 hours. An autopsy will be conducted.

Truck theft suspect held as collision injures eight

A man, 41, was arrested after he allegedly stole a truck, leading to a four-vehicle collision in Tuen Mun, which left eight people injured in Castle Peak Road. Three drivers, including the suspect, and five passengers were taken to four hospitals with minor injuries.

Mong Kok store robbed of fish and cash

A goldfish store in Tung Choi Street, Mong Kok, was robbed of 11 arowana from Malaysia worth HK$70,000. The 38-year-old store operator found the shop's gate and cash machine had been forced open when he returned at 1pm. HK$5,000 was also stolen.

Workshop employee hurt as canister explodes

A 54-year-old recycling-workshop employee was injured when a 50cm-long canister exploded in To Kwa Wan. The canister, collected for recycling, had been placed in a metal compressor before it exploded at the workshop in Pau Chung Street at about 3pm. It hit the worker's left hand, leaving him with a severe injury to a finger. He was taken to hospital.
