A scowl that would make men cry

Most people would be thrilled to win an Olympic silver medal ... but not McKayla Maroney. The 16-year-old US gymnast was a favourite to win the gold medal in the vault event in London, but she ended up in second place. She then stood on the podium with her arms crossed and a scowl on her face.

Netizens have taken her reaction and pasted it onto events or people that she would be not be impressed about. You can find them on the McKayla Is Not Impressed Tumblr. As you can see, Maroney does not think much of YP editor Susan Ramsay's attempt at archery.

This is Now

Snap snap! Who can believe that just a few years ago, we relied on physical photos taken with traditional film cameras? It's hard to imagine, given we now take a few dozen photos on our smartphone and instantly put them online for our friends to see.

Instagram has played a big part in this revolution, and now a new website is adding a remarkable feature to it. This is Now (www.now.jit.su) shows a live feed of every single picture uploaded to Instagram, with geo-location tags. The result is a unique window into life in some of the world's most exotic places - a portrait of how those inhabitants see their world. Twitter fans who use the site are calling it 'awesome' and 'amazing'. It offers a fascinating peek into cultures, with the Olympics dominating London's stream, while Tokyo residents seem to love sharing their self-portraits with the world.

Fewer babies and more bacon, please

Goo goo gaa gaa ... Babies are cute, we agree. But sometimes, page after page of their photos in your Facebook news feed can be a little tiresome.

But not to worry - a solution is at hand.

New browser extension Unbaby Me (www.unbaby.me) deals with babies' photos in your news feed by replacing them with things you want to see, like cars, puppies or even bacon! It scans your news feed for key words such as 'Adorable baby', 'First steps', or 'Cute newborn', then removes those posts.

Now go enjoy your baby-free browsing!
