Ordained to do battle with the God of Fighting

Tekken (Iron Fist) 3 will be released soon for the Sony PlayStation.

It is rumoured that a Tekken movie is being developed. It will supposedly use the same computer graphics as the game, and will be similar in appearance to Disney's Toy Story.

The movie will link the storylines between the Tekken 2 and Tekken 3 games.

In the original Tekken, the hero - Kazuya - threw his father Heihachi, leader of an evil corporation, over a cliff after he won the Tekken tournament.

In Tekken 2, Heihachi, who survived the fall and climbed back up the cliff to fight another day, discovered that his son had turned into the bad guy.

Now, in Tekken 3, unsatisfied and with a thirst for yet more power and money, Heihachi sets his goals even higher.

A plan for global peace falsely gains the confidence and support of leaders worldwide. In this time a baby is born.

Fifteen years later a secret excavation by Heihachi's Tekken forces in a Central American ruin unearths an unusual find.

In their final communique with Heihachi they report the sighting of a mysterious 'God of Fighting'.

Heihachi immediately heads to the scene on board his private jet.

On arrival he finds only scattered corpses.

Within weeks, strange disappearances occur throughout the world. Masters of the martial arts and other fighting disciplines are reported missing with no knowledge as to their whereabouts.

Jin Kazama is now a boy of 15. Though he and his mother Jun live peacefully in the mountains, her intuition warns of impending danger.

She tells him of a tremendous power seeking their lives. No longer a child and deserving of answers, Jun explains the story of his father, grandfather and the legend of Tekken.

Fearful of what lies ahead, she tells Jin to go to Heihachi if anything happens to her.

Her intuition proves right on a cold, stormy night. The 'God of Fighting' comes to the mountains bringing a chilling, swirling wind.

Still not a man and unpolished in his fighting skills, Jin is no match. Before losing consciousness he hears his mother warn him to run away.

Bright morning sunlight awakens Jin. The house and the surrounding area are a scorched ruin. He searches frantically for his mother, but she is nowhere to be found.

Following his mother's wishes, Jin seeks out Heihachi Mishima.

Upon hearing of what happened, Heihachi reasons that the 'God of Fighting' thrives on the 'strong souls' of others . . . the souls of Tekken.

Jin asks Heihachi to teach him how to defeat the 'God of Fighting'.

As a ploy to lure the god, Heihachi decides to organise The King of Iron Fist Tournament 3.

Such a gathering of strong souls would be too much for his arch enemy to resist.

Jin enters his 19th year.

Four years of tutelage under Heihachi Mishima have prepared him for his meeting with destiny. The tournament is about to start.
