Call to cut costs at Karachi

The All Pakistan Shipping Association has urged Karachi Port to cut tariffs on port call costs, ship handling and wharfage by 15 per cent to encourage more business.

In response Karachi Port chairman Khalid Mir said plans were being drafted for 24-hour container operations that would be the 'prelude to the concept of the off-dock container freight station'.
